Indicators & Hazard Flasher

Step 3 of 4
"You flick the indicator... nothing blinks. Could it be more than just a bulb?"

The Blinking System

Indicators rely on a flasher relay. This makes the bulbs blink at a steady rate. Hazards use the same relay but activate all four indicators.

If your indicators blink too fast, it usually means a bulb is blown. If they don't blink at all, the flasher relay might be faulty.

Indicators are off. Use them to signal your intentions to other road users.

The flasher relay is an electronic or thermal device that creates the blinking pattern. If your indicators blink too fast or too slow, the relay might be faulty.
